Kim Sheree Mapes, 58, of Hamilton, Illinois, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022, at her home.
She was born on April 28, 1964, in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of J. Richard and Jean E.(Hogge) Rhodes. On March 11, 1989, she married Terry Mapes in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband: Terry Mapes; three children: Troy (Sydney) Mapes of Rapid City, South Dakota, Corissa Mapes of Mount Sterling, Illinois, Krystal (Devon) Fisher of Florence, Kentucky; one grandchild: Julie Mapes and baby Mapes on the way; one brother: David Rhodes of Nauvoo, Illinois; one niece: Danielle (Parker) Miller of West Burlington, Iowa and one great-niece: baby Miller on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Kim was a 1982 graduate of Pekin-Packwood High School. She worked for WIN Magazine in Newton, Iowa. Kim loved going on cruises, having gone on eighteen in her lifetime. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her granddaughter Julie.
Her body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home for cremation.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Friday, July 29, 2022, at Schmitz Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo, Illinois, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Schmitz Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo, Illinois with Pastor Todd Vinson officiating.
Burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery Association or First Baptist Church of Keiser, Arkansas, for youth scholarships in her memory.
