Snaadt goes for 18 as HTC girls fall

Last minute free throws ice game for Danville

DANVILLE - The Bears converted four free throws in the final seconds to eek out a win over HTC 40-38 Tuesday night in Danville.

Teagan Snaadt had 18 to lead the Crusaders, nine in each half. Kayla Box and Presley Meyers each had seven for HTC.

The Crusaders trailed 7 to 3 in the first quarter, but had almost pulled even at 17-16 with less than a minute to go in the half, but the Bears' Alexa Dietsch buried a three-ball before the buzzer to give Danville a 20-16 halftime lead.

Snaadt would put in seven in the third quarter to help Holy Trinity wipe out the four-point deficit and take a 2 -point lead at 28-26 going into the final period.

HTC would go up by four at 30-26 and 35-31 with less than three minutes left. Danville cut it to three at 37-34 with two minutes left. HTC would convert a free throw in the final minute, but Danville would get to the line a few more times to seal the home win.

Mary Hellige had five points in the win and Jenna DiPrima chipped in with one.

Holy Trinity falls to 1-1 on the year and will host West Burlington (0-1) on Friday night.
