Union president endorses Amandus for supervisor

Posted

Dear Editor;

It is always refreshing to see a candidate who is not afraid to stand up and represent ALL of her constituents regardless of political party affiliation. As our current Fort Madison City Councilwoman Donna Amandus has done just that. Donna has put party politics aside for the common goal of improving quality of life for the residents of Fort Madison. As our Lee County Supervisor, I am certain she will do the same for the residents of Lee County.

Donna has built strong relationships and respect with residents, business leaders, organized labor, and community organizations alike. Donna’s passion and enthusiasm for our county is unmatched. Donna never stops working and, just as importantly, she never stops listening.

Lee County Supervisors will be making important decisions that will affect the quality of life for our residents for years to come. Which direction will we go? Donna has proven she will be a leader and make decisions based on our best interest, not based on extreme party ideology. Donna will help allocate resources back in Lee County and do it in a way that is responsible for our residents and taxpayers.

Each day I see the struggles that many working families in Lee County face. I have seen services reduced while our taxes go up. This cycle must stop, and Donna is the right choice at the right time. I am genuinely excited knowing that Donna is running for Lee County Supervisor and will be able to make such a positive impact on so many people.
