Lawrence Dale “Larry” Davis “LD”, 70, of Keokuk, IA, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the West Point Care Center in West Point, IA.

He was born on December 23, 1951 in Keokuk, the son of Ralph and Peggy (Percival) Davis.  He graduated from Bear Creek High School in Morrison, CO with the Class of 1970.

Larry had worked as a semi-truck driver and at several manufacturers including Sheller Globe, Foote Mineral and CHMI.  He also worked as a bartender at several local establishments.  Most recently he had owned and operated the Starlite Lounge in Keokuk.

He enjoyed riding his Harley and shooting pool.  He was a talented woodworker and especially enjoyed making picture frames, shelves and coasters.

He is survived by his father, Ralph Davis of Keokuk, four sons, Tobias “Toby” Davis (Irene Vega) of Montrose, Steve Davis of Keokuk, Matthew Nelson (Trisha Elder) of Keokuk and Isaac Malloy (Halley) of Keokuk, one daughter, Kelsey Washburne (Zach Lewis) of Iowa City and numerous grandchildren.  He is also survived by two brothers, Steve “Gus” Davis (Diana) of Hamilton and Mike Phillips (Refina Torres) of Patterson, CA, one sister, Debbie Miller (Ronald) of Keokuk and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Monday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Rick Kent and Pastor John Happs officiating. 

Visitation will be held prior to the service Monday, from 11:00 a.m.-12 noon, at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
