Loretta May Kay, 81, of Keokuk, IA died Monday, January 23, 2023 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

She was born September 13, 1941 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Marvin and Etta Starr Stoneking. 

On April 16, 1964 Loretta was united in marriage to Donald Kay.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 2013.

Loretta had been employed as a CNA at Hocker’s Nursing Home, Keokuk Convalescent and River Hills Village.

Loretta loved to go to yard sales and search for treasures.  She enjoyed collecting Indian knick knacks, ducks and refrigerator magnets.  Loretta was a wonderful cook and always had the best cookies in her cookie jar. 

She is survived by one son, Michael Stoneking (Robin) of Sioux Falls, SD and four grandchildren, Michael Stoneking, Jr., Whitney Wagaman, Jessica Christensen and Travis Nye.  She is also survived by two sisters, Cindy Leeper of Wayland, MO and Mary Jefferson of Carrolton, MO, one brother, Raymond Stoneking of Carrolton, MO and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Sholey, one brother, Marlin Stoneking, two brothers-in-law, Kent Leeper and Wayne Jefferson and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Stoneking.

According to her wishes there will be no services.
