Central Lee boys open season with OT loss

KALONA – A goal with 10:39 left in the match set the stage for an overtime session for the Central Lee Hawks Monday night at Hillcrest Academy in Kalona.
Hawks keep Hunter Gregory held Hillcrest in check for the first half, but allowed a goal at 24:12 in the second half to give up a 1-0 lead. With about 10 minutes left in the game, the Hawks’ Ayden Kent scored on a double assist from Peter Seyb and Landan Lowenberg to tie things up.
Hillcrest would score three minutes into the overtime period to set the final score at 2-1. The Hawks fell to 0-1 in SEI Superconference play and 0-1 overall.
They play host to Danville on Thursday at 6 p.m.
