Bendlage named 3rd team All-State by IGCA

Holy Trinity senior Mary Kate Bendlage was a Class 1A third-team All-State selection by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Bendlage, who became the program’s all-time leading scorer this season, averaged 20.9 points, which ranked 15th overall in Iowa and third among players in Class 1A after last week’s state tournament. Bendlage also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and three steals per game.
Bendlage, the SEI Superconference South Division’s Player of the Year, was an earlier All-Southeast District selection by the IGCA, and was a member of the organization’s all-academic team along with teammate Natalie Randolph.
The Class 1A All-State first team consisted of Macy Boge, Molly Boge and Kamryn Kurt of North Linn, Abbie Capesius of Bishop Garrigan, Rowan Jacobi of Springville, Kierra Jungers and McKenna Sievers of Newell-Fonda and Avah Underwood of Council Bluffs St. Albert. North Linn’s Brian Wheatley was named the coach of the year.
Keokuk’s Kendra Boatman was a third-team selection in Class 4A.
