Bloodhounds down Mt. Pleasant ahead of Invitational

FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Bloodhounds downed Mt. Pleasant 45-31 Thursday night prior to Friday and Saturday's Fort Madison Invitational Tournament at FMHS.

Senior Sam Hayes down the Tigers' Trevor Wellington in just :33 at 195 lbs. junior Danen Settles, wrestling at 285 lbs, Dayne Cordray at 126 lbs, Mason Schau at 132, Keaton Poe at 152 lbs and Diego Lozano at 182 lbs all recorded falls for the Hounds. Lozano, Settles and Cordray also recorded pins in less than a minute. Cordray, a senior on the squad, had the fastest pin of the night at :22.

At 138 lbs, Nathan Steffensmeier scored a tight 13-12 decision over Mt. Pleasant's Avante Henley in the tightest match of the night.

Fort Madison is hosting it's own Invitational on Friday and Saturday with Burlington, Clayton, Clear Creek Amana, Clinton High School, Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson, Hallsville, Illini West, Kennedy, Keokuk, Liberty (Wentzville), Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, Muscatine, New London, Notre Dame, Van Buren, WACO, and Warsaw scheduled to participate
