Applications open for Leadership program

Fort Madison Chamber again coordinating county leadership training

LEE COUNTY – The Lee County Leadership Program is now accepting applications for its next class of emerging leaders. The program, which runs over the course of eight months, is designed to develop and connect leaders who are passionate about strengthening their communities and shaping the future of Lee County.
Offered through a partnership between the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce, Lee County Economic Development Group, and Iowa State University Extension & Outreach of Lee County, the program combines hands-on learning, community projects, and leadership training.
Why Apply? Participants gain:
• Practical leadership skills that apply both in the workplace and community.
• A deeper understanding of local issues, opportunities, and resources.
• Connections with peers, local leaders, and state officials.
• Experiences such as Southeast Iowa Days in Des Moines, site visits, and interactive sessions led by ISU Extension & Outreach.
“Lee County Leadership is an investment in people,” said Savanna Collier, Executive Director of the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. “Whether you’re an individual looking to grow your leadership skills, or a business seeking to strengthen your team, this program helps build leaders who make a lasting impact.”
Business owners are encouraged to nominate and support employees for participation. Individuals are welcome to apply directly.
The deadline to apply is September 19, 2025.
