FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Area Art Association (FMAAA) is pleased to announce its major annual fundraising event, Artistry After Dark, scheduled for the evening of April 11, 2026, at McAleer Hall, 415 11th Street, Fort Madison, Iowa. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
Artistry After Dark will feature an art auction, artists creating onsite for a finale auction later, musical performances, and live poetry readings. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with local artists, lend their support to creative endeavors, and enjoy an atmosphere of inspiration and community.
YTK Catering (Y Test Kitchen) will be providing the catering as a dinner buffet for this year's event. FMAAA is excited by the new menu options refreshing the experience for those who have attended before. The FMAAA is excited to partner with them as we support another non-profit in our community. As an added bonus, TYK student volunteers will be on hand to serve and assist with clearing tables. The FMAAA looks forward to experiencing all the deliciousness they will bring to the occasion.
Some highlights to expect from the raffle and auction are: a diamond and turquoise necklace donated by Dana Bushong Jewelers; a week stay at a 5 bedroom / 5 bath vacation home in Surfside Beach, South Carolina donated by Jane and Dave Bartlett; an overnight B&B package featuring the Victoria Inn; and a variety of artwork, fine ceramics, jewelry and creative experiences designed to produce fun memories for a couple or a group.
Proceeds from this event will be used to support the ongoing operations of the FMAAA throughout the coming year. Funds will contribute to: art exhibitions, performances, educational workshops, and programming in collaboration with local veteran affairs organizations, ensuring continued access to the arts within the Fort Madison area. Individual tickets or reserved VIP tables are available at the FMAAA Art Center, located at 825 Avenue G in Fort Madison, through Board Members, or online at
fortmadisonart.com. Tickets include complementary beer and wine.
Since 1979, the FMAAA has served as a creative hub for Fort Madison — supporting local artists, offering accessible arts education, and contributing to the vitality of public art throughout our region. Our mission has always been rooted in the belief that a thriving arts community enriches the economic, social, and cultural well-being of the entire area.
