Posted

LEE COUNTY - Lee County Health Department will host a Back-to-School Immunization Clinic on Thursday, June 8th from 9 a.m.- noon and 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk.  This clinic is aimed for children entering grades Kindergarten, 7th grade, and 12th grade.
“We know school just got out, but we don’t want families faced with any issues when school starts up again,” said Amy Hayes, LCHD Immunization Nurse.  “By offering extended clinic hours, we hope that parents will take advantage of the opportunity.”
For those entering Kindergarten they will need a MMR, varicella, DTaP, and polio vaccine; for those entering 7th grade they will need a Tdap & meningitis/meningococcal vaccine; those entering 12th grade will need their second meningitis/meningococcal vaccine.
A second Back-to-School Immunization Clinic will be held on Thursday, August 17th from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. at the Lee County Health Department in Fort Madison.  Appointments are being taken at this time for this clinic.
Appointments are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling (319)376-4767 or (319)372-5225.  Walk-ins will be taken in order of arrival so wait times may vary.  If you are unaware if your child’s vaccines are up-to-date, please check with their healthcare provider.
