Beverly R. Brown, 79 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Birkwood Village, Fort Madison. She was born August 15, 1945, a daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Ort) Hoenig. She married Gerald Wenke, they had three children: Catherine, Martin, and Amy. They later divorced. She later married George Brown on January 21, 2000. He preceded her in death.
Beverely was a 1963 graduate of Aquinas High School. She attended Marycrest College at Davenport for one year. She worked at Sheaffer Pen, McDonalds as a store manager, Palms Supper Club, and HyVee. She was a co-owner of the Americana Bowl for many years. She drove for Door Dash. Beverly enjoyed sewing, baking, and playing bingo, cards and bunko.
She is survived by two children, Cathy (Greg) Garrels of Burlington, Iowa and Marty (Tracie) Wenke of Argyle, Iowa; five siblings: Judy (Harley) Sugars of Denmark, Iowa; Roger (Laura) Hoenig of Fort Madison; Harry (Linda) Hoenig of Fort Madison; Karen Hoenig of Farmington, Iowa; and Sherri (Clarence) Hartson of Fort Madison; one sister-in-law, Becky Hoenig; seven grandchildren: Darian Auge, Hallie (Billie) Garrels, Reagan Garrels, Cody (Jess) Wenke, John Henry Wenke, Thomas Wenke, and Kyler Wenke; five great grandchildren: Mattie, Maleah, Marshall, Mallory, and Everleigh; her dog, Ginger; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, one infant daughter, Amy, and two siblings, Jane Siefers and Warren Hoenig.
Her family will greet friends from 9:30 - 11:00 am Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A memorial service will follow and begin at 11:00 am Wednesday, with Pastor Les Featheringill officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.
