FORT MADISON - Get ready to toast to tradition—Fort Madison’s beloved Wine & Beer Walk is back for its 15th year, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most spirited events of the season.
Set for Friday, November 21st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., this annual celebration transforms historic downtown Avenue G  into a festive tasting trail filled with wine, craft beer, Iowa spirits, good cheer, and local charm.
Hosted by the Fort Madison Beautification Foundation, the walk invites attendees to explore 24 downtown businesses, each offering samples from local and regional vendors. Expect seasonal flavors, longtime favorites, and a few surprises from participating shops who’ll be crafting their own special concoctions for the evening. There will be a few “pop-up” food options available within the district as well for you to curb that hunger.
“We’re celebrating our 15th year doing this event,” says Tim Gobble, member of the Fort Madison Beautification Foundation. “The community continues to make it something special—it's a fun, unique way to experience downtown and support a good cause.”
This year’s commemorative tasting glass is sponsored by Jess Sutcliffe - State Farm, and you’ll want to snag yours early. The only opportunity to get the 2025 commemorative glass at the discounted price of $15 is during the Early Bird Sale at The Railyard, 1310 14th Street on Friday, Nov. 14th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. After that, glasses will be available for $20 at the Chamber office and The Funky Cowgirl through November 20th during regular business hours. On event day, glasses can be purchased while supplies last at the Chamber office, 614 7th Street until 6:30 p.m. or until gone.
Whether you're gathering with friends, planning a date night, or just looking to kick off the holiday season in style, the Wine & Beer Walk offers an unbeatable blend of community, flavor, and festivity. As a first-timer or long-time fan, this is your chance to experience how Fort Madison brings the holiday spirit to life—one sip at a time.
All proceeds go to the Fort Madison Beautification Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the look and feel of our historic community. Attendees are encouraged to follow current open container laws, CDC, and Lee County Health Department guidelines to ensure a safe, enjoyable evening for all.
Follow the Fort Madison Beautification Foundation on Facebook for vendor lists, route updates, and more as the date gets closer. Raise a glass, support a great community cause, and celebrate downtown Fort Madison. See you on November 21st!
