Charleston Board of Trade owner makes donation to schools

DONNELLSON — In a heartfelt gesture of community support Charleston Board of Trade Owner Tommy Benner has donated $2,968.27 to the Central Lee School Nutrition Department.
The contribution is intended to alleviate negative lunch balances for students within the Central Lee Community School District. Benner delivered his donation to Director of Nutrition Amy Fogarty, symbolizing the collaboration between local businesses and the district to meet the needs of students.
"We are incredibly thankful for Mr. Benner and the Charleston Board of Trade's commitment to our students. This donation will directly impact the lives of those facing negative lunch balances, ensuring they can enjoy nutritious meals without any barriers," said Fogarty. "It's heartening to see local businesses stepping up to support education and the wellbeing of our students."
The Central Lee Nutrition Department plays a crucial role in promoting healthy eating habits among students, and this donation will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the department's ability to fulfill its mission.
