Blind a good fit for Mayor's seat

I have known Melinda Blind for many years and find that she is an intelligent and caring person. She was the Fort Madison City Clerk for 13 years, which means she has years of experience in how the city is run. As City Clerk, she spent 13 years at the Council Meetings during the terms of Steve Ireland, Brad Randolph and Matt Mohrfeld. She was responsible for preparing the agendas and taking the minutes for each meeting. On behalf of the Council, she has worked with contractors, engineers, county and state governments. This really cuts down on a learning curve, and Melinda can step right in the mayoral role.
