Bloodhound boys 2nd at Hawk Invitational

DONNELLSON – The Keokuk boys ran away with the title at the Hawks' Invitational on Monday night at Central Lee High School.
The Chiefs won the boys' meet with 175.5 points and the Fort Madison Bloodhounds were second with 150 points. Central Lee wound up fifth with 89.5 points. The Chiefs finished second in the girls' meet at 146 points with the Lady Hawks in third with 94.5. Fort Madison’s girls' team didn’t participate.
The Chief boys captured titles in 10 events including most of the speed events with Ryan Bair taking the 100 and 200 meter dashes and Travarius Smith taking the 400 breaking the 50 second mark at 49.50.
Fort Madison’s Riley Tripp took the open 800 at 2:04 with Mason McLey right behind at 2:07.6.
Fort Madison Urijah Brooks got another big throw in the shotput with a 53’8” heave.
Keokuk’s Lincoln Wray took another title in the 400 hurdles at 57.10.
Central Lee’s sole title came when Jack Benner spun the discus 120’10.
In the girls' event, the Lady Hawks got a first-place finish from Macy Anderson in the 3000-meter run.
