BURLINGTON - Need Help Hosting an Event in Greater Burlington?
Applications are being accepted for the Greater Burlington Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Grow Your Event Grant, previously known as the Community Event Funding Grant. Completed applications for events in 2024 are due by October 31, 2023.
Since 2008, over $300,000 has been awarded to support events in Des Moines County. Events supported by this grant draw visitors to Greater Burlington and customers to area hotels, restaurants, and stores. More than a few new residents have cited local events, and their contributions to quality of life, as major factors in choosing Greater Burlington as their new home.
The Convention & Visitors Bureau sets aside a portion of its budget each year to offer financial assistance to area events. This funding is acquired through the collection of Hotel/Motel tax dollars.
All area events are eligible to receive free services offered by the Convention & Visitors Bureau. These services include assistance with planning tours and special activities, securing room blocks, bid proposals, Greater Burlington community information, and pre-event planning assistance. Event coordinators may contact the Convention & Visitors Bureau and make arrangements for these services.
