FORT MADISON - A late change in scheduling has resulted in the local band 'Campfire' filling in on the final Sunday of Old Settlers Association's Music in the Park.
OSA officials were informed late Wednesday that local band LMNOP would not be able to perform this Sunday for the park group's final event of the summer.
Campfire features powerhouse vocals from Heather Fuger harmonizing on covers and originals with the multi-talented Lily Noel, and legendary Iowa Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Famer Keating Hissem (Ozone Ramblers, Whisky Friends) on bass & guitar.
An offshoot of Heathers & Co., this family trio blends harmonies, heart, and hits from every decade.
The event will be held at Old Settlers Park located between 4th and 5th Streets in Fort Madison, this Sunday, August 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. and the free concert will begin after the dedication of a saucer swing to the City of Fort Madison.
The swing was purchased by the Old Settlers Association with memorial gifts of the family and friends of two original members of OSA - LaRita Hesse and Beverly Gobble-Morawitz.
Pork loin is on the grill served by Dennis Seyb of Lee County Pork Producers. The Fort Madison Elks Lodge is volunteering their time to serve side dishes and desserts beginning at 4:30 p.m..
Sponsors of the 24th Season of  “Music in the  Park “ free summer concerts will be recognized during the band’s break at 7 pm.
