NEW LONDON – The Central Lee Hawks had some trouble distancing themselves from host New London in a Tuesday SEI Super Conference boys' basketball game.
The Hawks rebounded from an 18-15 first-quarter deficit to pull away for a 60-46 win over the Tigers despite Brigham Porter’s game-high 25 for New London.
Central Lee had three players in double figures led by Brayden Wyrick’s 16 points. Will Hayes had 11 points and Carson Morrison had 10. Kaden Swan finished with nine for the Hawks.
A 14-8 second quarter advantage turned into a 13-14 point advantage throughout the second half as the Hawks earned their seventh win against seven losses overall. They are also over .500 in SEI Super Conference action at 6-4.
The Hawks take on West Burlington (11-1, 13-2) Friday at home.
