DONNELLSON - The Central Lee Community School District will host its annual Back to School Night this year on Monday, August 21. Events will be held at each of the district’s three school buildings.
Central Lee Elementary will conduct a meet-and-greet event from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Students and families will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with their respective classrooms, meet their teachers, locate their lockers, and drop off school supplies. Bus drivers will also be available at the bus lot to address questions from families.
In addition, the elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will be stationed in the elementary school commons area. PTO members will share information with parents about how to become part of the organization and contribute to their fundraising efforts to benefit teachers and students.
Central Lee Middle School will host its event from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. During this time, students will be able to receive their schedules, meet their teachers, drop off their school supplies, and locate their locker assignments. Additionally, staff will provide guidance about how to use PowerSchool and provide information about student leadership opportunities at the middle school.
Central Lee High School will host its Freshman and New Student Orientation from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the CLHS gym. During this session, the high school administration and staff will present the school's mission and vision, introduce students to the faculty, and outline the building's expectations. Students will also have the chance to familiarize themselves with their schedules, access their locker assignments, and learn about extracurricular options.
“We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to both new and returning students to our buildings for the 2023-24 school year,” said Dr. Andy Crozier, Superintendent. “Our staff members have been diligently preparing for the approaching academic year, and these events serve as an excellent foundation for fostering strong home and school connections. These connections play a pivotal role in setting the tone for each new school year and equipping our students for success."
