Chamber to showcase downtown building inventory

FORT MADISON, IA – The Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce invites the community to discover the possibilities during the “See Yourself Here” Property Tour on Thursday, August 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Whether you've dreamed of opening a restaurant, launching a boutique, expanding your business, or investing in your next opportunity, the See Yourself Here Property Tour is designed to help you explore the possibilities. This free, self-guided event offers a unique opportunity to step inside available commercial properties and imagine what your future could look like in Fort Madison.
Following the success of its inaugural tour, the Chamber is expanding this year's event to showcase available commercial properties throughout the community. The self-guided tour currently includes 10 available properties, ranging from move-in-ready office and retail spaces to historic redevelopment opportunities and mixed-use buildings. Property owners and representatives will be on-site at participating locations to answer questions and provide additional information.
Property owners with available commercial space who are interested in participating are encouraged to contact the Chamber. There is still time to have your property included in this year's tour.
"Our goal is to help people see the potential that exists right here in Fort Madison," said Savanna Collier, Executive Director of the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. "Whether someone is ready to open a business tomorrow or simply has an idea they've been thinking about for years, we want them to know there are spaces available and a network of people ready to help them succeed."
To help entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners take the next step, the Chamber has created a dedicated See Yourself Here Resource Page, featuring:

• Local, state, and federal incentive programs
• Business planning and entrepreneurial resources
• Downtown zoning and permitted use information
• Contact information for the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Fort Madison, and the Southeast Iowa Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

"The See Yourself Here initiative is about more than showcasing buildings," Collier said. "It's about connecting people with opportunities, supporting entrepreneurship, and helping shape the future of Fort Madison one business at a time."
