FORT MADISON – Have you ever dreamed of standing beneath the Acropolis, exploring ancient ruins, wandering charming seaside villages, or watching the sun set over the Aegean Sea?
The Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting area residents to turn that dream into reality with its upcoming Best of Greece: An Aegean Odyssey group travel experience, scheduled for March 7-15, 2027.
In partnership with Quest Voyager, the Chamber is offering a nine-day guided journey through one of the world's most historic and breathtaking destinations. The trip is open to everyone, Chamber membership is not required, and travelers from throughout the region are encouraged to join the adventure.
The itinerary includes visits to Athens, Nafplion, Mycenae, Epidaurus, the Corinth Canal, Diros Caves and more. Travelers will experience iconic landmarks including the Acropolis and Parthenon, enjoy authentic Greek cuisine and cultural experiences, visit a local olive farm, sample traditional ouzo and explore the history, beauty and culture that make Greece one of the world's most sought-after travel destinations.
For those looking to extend their adventure, an optional two-night extension to Santorini is also available.
“This is such a unique opportunity for people in our community and throughout the region to experience international travel together,” said Savanna Collier, Executive Director of the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. “The entire trip is professionally planned, from airfare and accommodations to transportation and guided experiences, making it a great option for both experienced travelers and those considering their first international trip.”
To help interested travelers learn more, the Chamber will host a free informational session with representatives from Quest Voyager on Thursday, September 24th at 5 pm. The session will be held at the Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce office at 614 7th Street with a virtual attendance option available through Microsoft Teams.
During the presentation, attendees will learn about the itinerary, what's included in the tour, pricing, travel details, and have the opportunity to ask questions.
The Chamber asks anyone planning to attend the information session to RSVP. Those wishing to participate virtually should contact the Chamber to receive the Teams meeting link.
The Chamber's Greece travel opportunity is open to individuals, couples, families and groups of friends. Participants do not need to be Chamber members to travel with the group.
Travelers who reserve their trip by October 4, 2026, can take advantage of early bird pricing of $4,199 per person, based on double occupancy. After October 4, the tour price will increase to $4,399 per person.
The tour package includes roundtrip airfare from St. Louis, seven nights in first-class hotel accommodations, 18 included meals, private motorcoach transportation, guided sightseeing, entrance fees and the services of a professional tour director throughout the journey.
