Christmas Tree Stroll to benefit holiday lighting

FORT MADISON – The Downtown Christmas Tree Stroll Contest is officially in full swing, and it’s time for the community to get involved! Fourteen local businesses are showcasing their holiday spirit by decorating Christmas trees and competing for the title of the best fundraiser for new holiday lighting in downtown Fort Madison.
This festive fundraiser is a fun way to support both the cause and local businesses. The contest is underway, and the public is encouraged to stroll through the Historic District to visit each participating business, view their beautifully decorated trees, and cast a monetary vote. Each business has a voting canister, and your contributions will directly support the goal of raising funds for new holiday lights in the downtown area.
Participating businesses include Stage 2 Consignment, Under The Sun, Rev Fitness (limited hours), The Newberry Center (limited hours), Dana Bushong Jewelers, Midwest One Bank, Mariah's Family Chiropractic, Swed Coffee, The Fox Theater, SIIS Insurance, Dodd Printing & Stationery, Harvestville Mercantile, Colony Shop & Bridal Loft, and Beam It Up Laser Works.
Signs in the windows of participating locations will guide you, and a walking map is available on the Fort Madison Beautification Foundation’s Facebook page for easy navigation.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to funding new holiday lighting downtown. The Christmas Tree Stroll Contest will conclude on December 24th, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy the season while supporting the beautification of Fort Madison’s downtown area.
"This event is a wonderful way to not only bring the community together to celebrate the holidays, but to give back to our local businesses and help create a more festive atmosphere in downtown Fort Madison," said Tim Gobble, Fort Madison Beautification Foundation member.
Get out, enjoy the sights, and make your vote count today! Support our local businesses and help light up downtown Fort Madison for the holidays!
