FORT MADISON - Interested in serving on a board or commission, running for office or just interested in volunteer opportunities? The City of Fort Madison will be holding a Community Involvement Fair from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30 at the Kinglsey Inn, 707 Avenue H, Fort Madison.
What is a Community Involvement Fair? It’s a place where citizens can learn of the details and responsibilities to serve on boards and commissions, run for office, or volunteer within the community. City representatives will be present to discuss what the various city boards and commissions do and City Council members will be available to discuss the process of running for City office and the type of commitment that entails.
Other entities such as the Housing Authority, Lee County Conservation Board and the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program will also be present.
Are you an organization looking for volunteers in Lee County? Contact Melinda Blind by Friday, August 25 at 319-372-7700 ext. 206 or email mblind@fortmadison-ia.com to reserve a table.
