County foundation awards $32K in local grants

LEE COUNTY - The Board of Directors of the North Lee Community Foundation are pleased to announce grants to seven Lee County 501c(3) exempt nonprofit organizations.
Grants were awarded to nonprofit organizations in the fields of arts and culture, community betterment, education, health, and human services in Lee County Iowa.
North Lee Community Foundation hosted a Grant Reception Lunch on Wednesday at Turnwater Bar & Grill in Fort Madison.
More than $32,000 was distributed to the following nonprofit organizations will be from the North Lee Community Foundation Grant Endowment Fund:
• Central Lee High School - Growing Leaders of Lee County
• Community Services Council, Inc. - Milk for the Food Insecure of Lee County
• Fort Madison Family YMCA Test Kitchen - Youth Food and Nutrition Program

• Green Acres Golf Club Foundation - Green Acres Golf Course Pool House
• Iowa 2X4’s For Hope - Tiny Homes for Veterans
• Lee County EMS Council - EMS Training System
• Old Fort Madison Preservation Inc - Old Fort Madison Stabilization Project
The Keokuk Area Community Foundation announces 25% Endow Iowa Tax Credit.
Endow Iowa provides tax incentives to donors who have made a gift to an endowed fund or established an endowed fund at the Keokuk Area Community Foundation. Gifts made to Endow Iowa eligible funds held at the Community Foundation of Des Moines County and North Lee Community Foundation can also receive an 25% Endow Iowa Tax Credit. This gift is not eligible for a state income tax deduction, although it does qualify for the federal charitable deduction.  
As of December 11, 2024, all 2024 Endow Iowa Tax Credits have been allocated. Later this month and into the new year, the State of Iowa will be mailing 2024 Endow Iowa Tax Credit certificates to donors who were awarded credits for 2024. Any Endow Iowa eligible gift processed after December 11, 2024, will receive a 2025 Endow Iowa Tax Credit.
