LEE COUNTY – Recent flooding caused the closure of multiple county roads and bridges, but Lee County Engineer Ben Hull said Monday that most of the roads have been reopened and the situations have improved.
Ten roads and bridges were closed as storms dumped heavy rain on the county late last week.
“Generally, we’ve seen improvement and most of the roads have reopened,” Hull said.
"263rd Avenue on the north side of Devil’s Creek is still closed and 235th Avenue, commonly known as Viele, is still washed out and we anticipate being able to get that open by the end of the week.”
Hull also said gravel roads in the county have lots of ruts in them and drivers should be mindful of that and drive with caution.
“Our guys are out working on it, but it will take us at least two to three days to get to them all,” he said.

• 240th Avenue was closed from Hwy. 2 to 235th St. until further notice.
• 220th St. was be closed from Golden Road to 2293 220th St., including roadway and bridges.
• 239th Ave. was closed from 255th St.(Charleston Road) south to the RR tracks due to water over the road.
