Cruisers and Richie Lee invade Old Settlers

HOF nominee Richie Lee & The Fabulous 50s to play July 24 with Pen City Cruisers on site.

FORT MADISON - Love Classic cars?   FREE outdoor music?  and a picnic supper that you can purchase on site?    The Old Settlers Association will present their second concert of the 2026 Season on Friday, July 24th. “Richie Lee and the Fabulous 50’s” will take the stage from 5-8 pm.  
Richie has performed Buddy Holly tributes since his first talent contest at age 9. His list of 50’s music has expanded significantly since then with audience favorites Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper (JP Richardson), Ricky Nelson, and so many more.
“An artist must play music for 25 years or more to be nominated for the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. And in 2026, Richie Lee was finally old enough to be nominated! This is also his 10th year of playing in Old Settlers Park with band mates Justin David Kramer and Hank Muzney. This year if you have a favorite photo or memory of Richie Lee & “The Fabulous 50’s” you would like to share with the band, you are encouraged to bring them with you to the park and share a note of congratulations for his induction Labor Day weekend in Arnold Park at Lake Okoboji Iowa” said concert Chair Sheryl Decker.
“Chad Schneider, president of Pen City Cruisers will be organizing the 10th year of their classic vehicle cruise-in, something for everyone on July 24.  Enjoy a seat at a picnic tables bring your own lawn chairs and come and enjoy a family friendly evening our sponsors have provided for you.”

The concert is rain or shine, and although the weather looks great at this point, the Fort Madison United Methodist Church offers us their facility in case of inclement weather.

In kind donations have been provided by Hy-Vee, The Democrat, Pen City Current, Fort, Madison Chamber, and all of our Old Settlers Association members, officers, bakers, and volunteers.
These volunteers will be serving our famous pre-cooked brats, and jumbo beef hotdogs, along with optional sides, desserts and cold drinks  beginning at 4:30 p.m..  Old Settlers Park is located on 4th Street and Avenue E in Fort Madison, Iowa.
SOUTH PRAIRIE BAND - Hall of Fame Concert August 1
Members of the South Prairie Band invite everyone to attend the celebration concert of their induction into the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the Capitol Theatre in Burlington Iowa on Saturday, August 1st at 7 pm.  Admission is $30 and tickets can be obtained at the Theatre’s web site or at the door.  The band is looking forward to seeing friends who followed them for the 25 years they have been playing together in the area and beyond.  They were the Official Band of the Tri-State Rodeo for many years -  Reunion concerts are the best!  Hope to see you there!
