FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Lady Hounds rolled to their third straight win with a 61-31 win over Danville in non-conference girls' action Monday night.
Sophomore Molly Schulte and Dayonna Davis tied for game-high scoring honors with 20 each. Schulte went 6 of 7 from the 3-point line and was 7-of-9 from the floor. Davis was 8-of-12 from the floor and hit four of six from the freethrow line. Hadley Wolfe was also in double figures with 13 points.
Junior Halle Menke had eight boards, six assists, and a block to lead Fort Madison on defense. Davis had five rebounds and six steals, while sophomore Reilynn Turnbull had four boards and four steals.
Fort Madison opened up a quick 16-5 lead in the first quarter and extended that to 29-11 at the half. Danville played a more respectable third period putting up 15, but then the Hounds clamped down again in the fourth holding the Bears (0-4) to just five points while getting some role players time off the bench.
Fort Madison improves to 3-1 on the year with the only loss coming in overtime to Ottumwa to start the season. They stand at 1-0 in the Southeast Conference tied with Burlington and Keokuk.
