Expression Art Auction this weekend

FORT MADISON - Not just Art Expressions, but the fine art of adventure and building memories with others.
The Member Artists of FMAAA have once again generously supported their Art Center with a excellent array of artwork, sculpture, ceramics, and jewelry donated to support the Expressions Art Auction, the major fundraiser which supports annual operating expenses and programming for the FMAAA Art Center. This year’s event will be held Saturday, April 13 at McAleer Hall located at 415 11th Street in Fort Madison, Iowa. The doors open at 6pm with the live auction to begin at 7 p.m.
The evening will begin with beer and wine tasting courtesy of Lost Duck and Linden Winery. The sampling continues with a variety of Mediterranean, Italian and Mexican fusion fare available from La Tavola, the Garden of Eatn’, and Mama Knows. Tickets to attend are $50 each in advance and are available online at fortmadisonart.com or in person at the FMAAA Art Center located at 825 Ave G. The price will be $60 at the door.
This year is expected to be a memorable occasion as the Auction Committee morphs this event slightly towards an event with less Art on bid and more experiences. For example, you and your group could meet up locally to make your own pots and planters, visit a winery, or go on a studio tour. Or head to St Louis for a Cardinals game and a brew master tour. For the sailing enthusiast, a new trip is available to sail out of Hilton Head on the Stars and Stripes, an America's Cup vessel skippered by Captain Dennis Conner who is also known as “Mister America’s Cup.” A beach getaway to favorite Mexican destinations are also on bid.
While the best way to experience the Expressions Art Auction is to be there in person, some intervals of the evening will be live streaming on Facebook after 7:15pm to encourage broader participation in the Fund-a-Projects that directly meet the needs of the Art Center. Matt Morris and Mio Santiago have agreed to help highlight this important new addition to the evening. They will also be helping with the final chances at the raffle drawing for a weeklong stay at a wonderful vacation home on Martha's Vineyard.
