Farmington reader endorses Vandenberg for sheriff

Editor:
My name is David Buford, I am a local business owner. Full disclosure, I did not know Elliott Vandenberg until he announced his candidacy for Sheriff. I’ve never had an issue with Stacy Weber and I like him on a personal level. He’s a smooth talker and in my opinion would make a great politician. As a person who cares about our community, I wanted to meet Elliott Vandenberg so I could say I’ve looked at both options for the county. I picked up the phone and called him.  I met with Elliott and was immediately impressed with his law enforcement background and knowledge for the job. Since that initial meeting, I have slowly gotten more involved. I have now met with over 20 law enforcement officers in the community. The more I have learned from these officers the clearer it is to me that we absolutely need a change in the Sheriff’s office. The vast majority of ACTIVE law enforcement personnel in this area are supporting Elliott Vandenberg to be your next Sheriff. As a community, we should be listening to these men and women who we trust to protect us. Party set aside, I would encourage you to take a stance with law enforcement and vote Elliott Vandenberg to be your next sheriff.
