INDIAN HILLS – The Fort Madison boys had a solid weekend at the Centerville hosted tournament at Indian Hills.
A 14-13 win over Centerville was saved in the bottom of the seventh after the Big Red had cut the lead to one on an RBI single and had one on with no outs. Stefan Berlett got a ground out for the first out, but the tying run advanced to scoring position at second. A bunt single put runners at 1st and 3rd with one out. But an infield fly out took the sacrifice run out of play and then a fly ball to right ended the rally, leaving the Hounds with the tournament title.
The Hounds rolled Davenport North 18-2 in their first game of the day. Reece Huey went 3-for-3 at the plate driving in four runs and scoring a couple runs to lead the Hounds.
Owen Weisinger was 3-for-3 and scored three runs. Owen Huffman was 2-for-2 with a walk while driving in two and scoring three. Nolan Lamb, Jay Ellison, Case Fraise and Cade Blind all had multi-hit games for the Hounds. Blind had three RBI and Lamb had two.
