FM girls 7th, Central Lee 8th at Timm Lamb Relays

FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Lady Hounds captured 7th place at the Timm Lamb Pen City Relays Tuesday night at Richmond Stadium in Fort Madison.
The Bloodhounds accumulated 102 points, followed by Central Lee with 88 points. Keokuk’s ladies were 10th with 76 points.  Van Buren won the event with 155 points followed by Mediapolis with 147 and Davis County with 145.
Avery Rump secured the only individual titles for Fort Madison in distance runs. Rump won the 1500 and 3000. She ran a 5:01.94 in the 1500 and a 10:44.02 in the 3000. Her 10:28.31 in the 3000 at Washington is the 26th best time in the state and 7th best in 3A.
The Lady Hounds’ Distance Medley team of Mia Mason, Charley Huebner, Mara Smith, and Avery Rump put up a 4:29 flat, which vaulted them into the top 28 teams in the state, and 9th best in Class 3A.
The Bloodhounds' 4x800 team of Mara Smith, Madisyn Grifin, Addison Rump, and MaKayla Schinstock captured first place with a 10:31.12.
Smith was 3rd in the open 800 with a 2:37.45 and sister Lyla Smith was 3rd in the 400-hurdles with a 1:16.35.
Fort Madison 4x400 team also captured third with MaKayla Schinstock on the first leg, then Grifin, Esther Gnann, and Addison Rump on the final leg at 4:39.06.
For Central Lee, Aubrey Weber secured 16 points with two second-place finishes in the shot put and the discus. Weber threw a 31’8”in the shot and a 105’3” in the discus. Kaitlyn Morrison was 3rd in the 200 at 28.73. Allison Gruntmeir was 3rd in the 100 hurdles at 18.01.
The Hawks also got a 3rd place in the shuttle hurdle with Ava Washburn, Julia Fraise, Adalyn Dill, and Gruntmeir on the final leg at 1:19.08. Gruntmeir was also 3rd in the high jump at 4’10”.
Keokuk’s Alaya Carr took first in the 100 hurdles with 15.66 which is 9th best in 3A and 36th in the state.
