FORT MADISON - Fort Madison High School’s girls basketball team will get another chance to face Southeast Conference regular-season champion Burlington this season.
The Bloodhounds (13-5) will play at Burlington (15-5) in next Wednesday’s Class 4A Region 4 quarterfinal.
Pairings for Class 4A and 5A were released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Wednesday.
Fort Madison and Burlington split their two regular-season matchups this season, with the Bloodhounds winning 49-39 at Burlington on December 20, the Grayhounds’ only loss in conference play this season. Burlington won 51-47 at Fort Madison on January 31.
The winner of the Fort Madison/Burlington game will play at fourth-ranked Central DeWitt (18-3) on February 22.
Mount Pleasant (3-18) will play at Keokuk (16-4) in the other quarterfinal in the Region 4 bracket. The winner of that game will play at No. 12 Clear Creek Amana (13-7) on February 22.
The regional final will be February 25 at a site to be determined.
The Bloodhounds close the regular season on Thursday at Keokuk.
