FM man arrested for assault early Thursday

FORT MADISON - On December 25, 2025, at approximately 12:55 a.m., officers with the Fort Madison Police Department arrested Ismael Xelhua Jimenez, age 36, of Fort Madison, Iowa, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center. Jimenez was charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, a Class C Felony. He was transported to the Lee County Jail to await his initial court appearance.
The arrest stems from a reported assault that occurred on December 24, 2025, at 2420 Avenue M, Fort Madison. The Fort Madison Police Department was assisted by the Division of Criminal Investigation, Fort Madison Fire Department, LeeComm, and Lee County Emergency Medical Services, and the Lee County Attorney’s office.
All Charges are mere accusations until proven in a court of law
