Fort Madison Police Report
09/18/25 - 7:02 AM - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a no injury accident in the 400 block of Avenue C. 
09/18/25 - 10:58 AM - Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny and theft in the 1200 block of Avenue D.
09/18/25 - 3:07 PM - Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny and theft in the 4900 block of Grand View Lane. 
09/18/25 - 6:45 PM - Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny and theft in the 2200 block of Avenue D. 
09/18/25 - 8:13 PM - Fort Madison police arrested Belinda Lorene McWhorter, 37, of Fort Madison at 35th Street and Avenue L on a charge of driving while barred. She was held in Lee County Jail. 
09/18/25 - 8:27 PM - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a no injury accident at 7th Street and Avenue E. 
09/18/25 - 9:52 PM - Fort Madison police responded to a report of a burglary in the 1500 block of Avenue B. 
09/18/25 - 11:48 PM - Fort Madison police cited Kyle Christopher Schmitt, 29, of Fort Madison at 18th Street and Avenue G on a charge of possession of marijuana. 

Keokuk Police Report
09/10/25 - 8:11 AM - Keokuk police responded to a report of a no injury accident in the 1800 block of Timea Street. Dorothy Lynn Jefferson, 73, of Keokuk was heading east on Timea Street and went to adjust the radio, accidentally veered left, and struck a parked Ford pickup truck that was facing west. The parked vehicle sustained functional damage and Jefferson's vehicle sustained disabling damage. She was cited for failure to maintain control. 
09/10/25 - 9:18 PM - Keokuk police responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically in the 100 block of Mississippi River Drive. The next morning, BNSF employees called in reference to damage to property at the crossing. The vehicle from the night before was Jaden Keelan Burton, 18, of Keokuk who was driving too fast and lost control while driving. This caused him to leave the roadway and stuck an electrical box, a railroad switch arm, and then proceeded over the tracks. The vehicle sustained front end damage to the vehicle and a flat tire. Burton was charged with failure to maintain control, operating with a suspended driver's license, and for having no car insurance for the accident. 

Lee County Police Report
09/18/25 - 2:27 AM - Lee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kurtis Eugene Russell, 40, of Keokuk in the 3600 block of 235th Avenue in Keokuk on a warrant for domestic abuse assault, and two charges for attepted murder and going armed with intent. He was held in Lee County Jail. 
09/18/25 - 8:52 PM - Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Michael Jason Westcott, 44, of Keokuk in the 700 block of Avenue F in Fort Madison on a warrant for failure to appear. He was held in Lee County Jail.
