FORT MADISON -- On April 27 th , 2026, the Lee County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant in the 1700 block of Avenue I in Fort Madison as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located a large amount of methamphetamine, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia consistent with the distribution and use of controlled substances.
As a result of the investigation Corey Howes was charged with the following offenses: keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substances an Aggravated Misdemeanor; Controlled Substance Violation a class B Felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Simple Misdemeanor; Possession of Controlled Substance 3 rd Subsequent Offense a class D Felony; Delivery of a Controlled Substance a class B Felony; Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp a class D Felony
This arrest stems from an ongoing investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that Howes was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs in the Lee County area.
The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice, with funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
