Green Acres launches pool house campaign

Friday check presentation kickstarts $280K campaign

DONNELLSON -  The Green Acres Pool House fundraising committee is proud to officially relaunch and move forward with determination on the long-anticipated project to build a new, modern pool house at Green Acres Golf Course.
Originally started in 2019, the campaign was paused due to unforeseen circumstances, but now with a committed team and a clear plan, the project is back on track and set to become a reality.
A symbolic check presentation Friday marked a $40,000 head start, made possible by $21,000 in contributions from the original campaign, two initial grants, and new early donations. The total project is estimated at approximately $280,000, and the committee is committed to having the new facility open for the 2026 summer season.
The new facility will feature ADA-compliant restrooms, secure storage for pool equipment, and a full roof. Designed with a focus on safety, sanitation, and accessibility, the updated pool house will better serve the needs of families and community members who use the Green Acres pool and recreation area each summer.
Importantly, you do not need to be a member to use the pool or other amenities at Green Acres. All facilities from the golf course to the pool are open to the general public. This accessibility is a major benefit to Donnellson and surrounding communities, with many families relying on the pool for swim lessons and summer recreation.
“We’re excited to build on the momentum of past support and take active steps toward completing this much-needed improvement,” said Stacey Wagner, committee co-chair. “With the strength of our committee and generosity of our supporters, we’re confident this vision can become reality.”
A team of ten volunteers is now reaching out personally to local residents to invite support and share information.
Tax-deductible donations can be made to:
Friends of Green Acres Foundation, LLC
PO Box 195
Donnellson, IA 52625
An account has also been established at Pilot Grove Savings Bank for those who prefer to donate directly through the bank.
