DONNELLSON - The Friends of Green Acres Foundation LLC has received a boost in its fundraising efforts for the new Green Acres pool house project thanks to a $500 challenge donation from Butch and Lori Welch. In the photo above, Butch and Lori Welch are shown presenting their donation to fundraising committee co-chair, Stacey Wagner.
Welch shared her motivation for supporting the project, stating, “We want future kids and families to enjoy the same summer swimming memories that our children had, supported by a safer, cleaner, updated pool house.”
Donations and pledges continue to come in as the committee works toward its goal of breaking ground on the new pool house in the spring of 2026, weather permitting. The project has now surpassed the 50% fundraising mark, and additional community support is needed to bring this vision to reality.
As a special holiday incentive, donors contributing before December 31 will receive a gift certificate to the new Green Acres restaurant. A $100 donation earns a $25 gift card, $250 earns a $50 gift card, and donations of $500 or more receive a $100 gift card.
Those wishing to contribute may do so by dropping off a donation at Pilot Grove Savings Bank, or by mailing a check to:
