High-risk search executed in FM Tuesday

Several individuals detained after SRT raids home

FORT MADISON - Member of the Lee County Special Response Team (SRT) were joined the Lee County Narcotics Task Force Tuesday to assist them with conducting a high-risk warrant service in the 3000 block of Avenue J in Fort Madison.
The warrant was executed at 8;30 a.m. and SRT was on scene for approximately 20 minutes. Officers did deploy flashbang during the execution of this warrant, which may account for any loud explosion heard in the area during this time. The warrant was executed without incident, and numerous individuals were detained and turned over to the Lee County Narcotics Task Force.
The Lee County Special Response Team (SRT) is made up of law enforcement officers with the Fort Madison Police Department, Keokuk Police Department, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Assisting in the execution of this search warrant were the following agencies: Lee County Sheriff's Office, Lee County Attorney’s Office, Lee County EMS, Lee County Conservation, LeeComm Dispatch, and the Lee County Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT).
