FORT MADISON - The FMAAA Art Center is once again hosting an annual favorite, the High School Art Exhibition, for the month of April. The Art Opening is Thursday, April 3 from 5pm to 7pm. Stop by the FMAAA Art Center located at 825 Ave G in Fort Madison during the Opening Reception and meet some of the artists and their instructors. Art openings are always free to attend and open to the public. The monthly exhibitions at the FMAAA Art Center are underwritten by generous sponsorship. This month’s exhibition was made possible by Wondra Chiropractic and Acupuncture.
The High School show features a wide range of mediums like drawing, charcoal, pastels, watercolor, acrylic and oils along with photography. In the past, students have also exhibited some interesting mixed media and digital art. Pottery/ceramics and sculpture make up the majority of the 3D artwork on display, however, 3D mixed media and metal fabrication have also made their way into the mix in the past. The High School show is always an exhibition of high quality student work, reflecting both excellence in instruction and the creativity of our area's young people
Visiting the FMAAA Art Center to take in monthly exhibitions in the Main Gallery or the Pop-up is always free. This High School exhibition will run from April 3 to the 30th.
