Hinterland Dairy to host free breakfast

DONNELLSON - Hinterland Dairy is excited to welcome the community to its first Breakfast on the Farm celebration on Saturday, June 27, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. The complimentary breakfast offers guests a chance to enjoy a farm-fresh meal while learning more about local agriculture, dairy farming, and the people behind the food on their tables.
The breakfast menu will feature pancakes served by the Fort Madison Lions Club, eggs provided by the Iowa Egg Council, and sausage generously donated by Heartland Fresh Family Farms. Guests can also enjoy Great River maple syrup, Prairie Farms milk, and, for a special treat, a scoop of Hinterland Dairy ice cream atop their pancakes.
For Hinterland Dairy co-owner Colleen Krogmeier, hosting Breakfast on the Farm is the realization of a long-held dream.

"For many years, I've wanted to bring people together on the farm to celebrate June Dairy Month," said Krogmeier. "The goal of Hinterland Dairy has always been to share the wholesome milk our cows produce with our community through delicious dairy products. What better way to celebrate Dairy Month and serve our community than by gathering around the table on a June morning? We love welcoming people to the farm, sharing our story, and creating an opportunity for families and friends to connect over a great meal."
Visitors will be welcomed by the Iowa Dairy Princess and Alternate, who will greet guests and share educational and fun dairy-related materials. Several agricultural commodity groups will also be on hand with interactive information about Iowa agriculture. For those interested in seeing more of the dairy, guided tours of the milking parlor will be offered.
The event is free to attend, but reservations are requested to aid in preparation. Guests are encouraged to reserve their preferred breakfast time by calling 319-470-6819.
