FORT MADISON, IA — The Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce invites the community to enjoy a festive weekend downtown with two special events: the Downtown Cookie Crawl on Friday, December 12th, and a rescheduled Mistletoe on Main & Small Business Saturday celebration on Saturday, December 13th.
Friday, December 12th – Downtown Cookie Crawl (4–7 p.m.)
Participants are invited to stroll through downtown Fort Madison and collect holiday treats at 13 participating businesses. Each stop will offer a cookie or other seasonal goodie. Cookie Crawl boxes can be purchased in advance at the Chamber Office at 614 7th Street starting December 8th. Boxes are $15 each and quantities are limited. This event also doubles as a holiday open house for our local businesses — the perfect chance to shop, explore, and enjoy downtown in all its holiday charm.
Saturday, December 13th – Mistletoe on Main / Small Business Saturday (10 a.m.–2 p.m.)
Due to last week’s snowstorm, the Chamber’s Mistletoe on Main and Small Business celebration has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 13th. The event will include downtown shopping specials, festive activities for families, and appearances by holiday characters. Several businesses will be offering promotions, special deals and treats to welcome shoppers back downtown for a second chance at Small Business Saturday fun.
“We know how important these events are for our community and our small businesses,” said Savanna Collier, Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “We’re grateful for everyone’s flexibility after the snowstorm and excited to bring people back downtown for a full weekend of holiday cheer.”
Both events support the Chamber’s mission to strengthen local businesses and encourage residents to shop local during the holiday season.
