FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Bloodhounds' boys and girls Southeast All-Conference teams were announced this week.
The Lady Hounds and Bloodhounds both put two players on the 1st team.
Juniors Dayonna Davis and Hadley Wolfe were both put on the top squad for Fort Madison. They joined Keokuk’s Kendra Boatman and Camryn Atterberg, Burlington’s Mylee Stiefel, and Washington’s Adalyn Long. Steifel was named Player of the Year.
Davis started all 20 games for the 13-7 ladies, scoring 257 points which led the Hounds and was fourth best in the conference. Her 172 rebounds were second best in the conference.
Wolfe scored 232 points and was tops on the teams in assists with 85 and steals with 66. Both those marks were third best in the conference.
The Bloodhound boys put Nolan Guzman and Julian Dear on the 1st-team.
Dear had set a record with 163 assists, breaking the previous Bloodhound record of 159.
That mark was best in the conference by more than 70. Guzman was second in the conference with 95. Dear averaged 12.5 points per game and seven assists.
Guzman was 3rd in the conference in scoring with 336 points, just a bucket out of second place. He averaged 14.6 points per game, four assists, four boards, and 2.5 steals.
Halle Menke was named 2nd team all conference for the Lady Hounds, while Charley Huebner and Reilynn Turnbull both earned honorable mention. Menke was fifth in the conference in rebounds with 126.
For the boys, seniors Dayton Lamar and Kenden Bowie both earned 2nd team all-conference, while sophomore Darius Foy earned honorable mention.
Lamar and Bowie each averaged just over 12 points per game and nine boards.
Keokuk’s Jaxon Clark was Player of the Year in the Conference for the Chiefs. Clark’s 537 points were 22nd in the state in all classes. He was 2nd in the state in all classes in rebounds with 348.
