Hounds stumble at J-Hawk Invitational

CEDAR RAPIDS – The Fort Madison Bloodhounds had a letdown of sorts this weekend at the J-Hawk Invitational on Saturday at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School.
The Hounds only had one place finisher and that was Ren Watson, who captured sixth place at 190 lbs. Fort Madison finished with 27 points for 18th place.
Watson won his first two matches by fall and then ran up against Class 3A’s Andy Franke of Muscatine (23-1). He would lose his next two, including the 5th-place match by fall.
Oliver Schelich (106), Cole Quittem (113), James Fuller (120), Justice Lightfoot (126), Noah Swigart (138), Jack Benner (165), and Aaron Warner (285) all went 1-2 at the event.
The Bloodhounds are coming off a double dual win at Fairfield on Thursday against the Trojan and Ottumwa.
