HTC boys draw top seed in 1A district 10 post-season

Central Lee boys No. 4 seed in District 7 2A

FORT MADISON - Holy Trinity’s boys basketball team is the top seed in its district in the Class 1A postseason pairings released Monday.
The Crusaders (15-4), playing in District 10 of Substate 5, open play on February 12 at home against either Seymour or Tri-County in a quarterfinal. The winner will play either No. 4 seed Moravia or No. 5 seed Wayne on February 15 in a district semifinal.
The other side of the bracket has No. 2 seed North Mahaska playing No. 7 seed Moulton-Udell and No. 3 seed Montezuma playing sixth seed Twin Cedars in quarterfinal games. The winners will meet in a semifinal on February 15.
The district final is February 20.
The District 10 winner will play the District 9 winner in the substate final.
Winfield-Mount Union is the top seed in District 9. Notre Dame is the No. 2 seed, WACO is the third seed, Danville is the fourth seed. Sigourney, Pekin, New London and Columbus are the remaining seeds.
Central Lee is the No. 4 seed in District 7 of Class 2A Substate 4. The Hawks will play host to No. 5 seed Louisa-Muscatine on February 12. The winner of that game will play at top seed West Burlington on February 15 in a semifinal.
No. 3 seed Mediapolis plays host to sixth seed Van Buren in the first round, with the winner playing at No. 2 seed West Branch in a semifinal.
The district final is February 20.
