DANVILLE - The Holy Trinity boys shook off a sluggish first half shooting and made a late run at Danville in boys' SEI Superconference basketball action Tuesday night.

The Crusaders rallied from 15 points down to start the 4th quarter, but came up just short in a 57-54 loss to fall to 0-2 in hoop play.

Luke Hellige led the Crusaders with 15 points including 5-of-7 free throw shooting in the final period to help HTC get close. Connor Gehling had 14 for HTC.

The Crusaders trailed 45-30 heading into the final period  and cut the lead to three at 45-42 after a 12-0 run to start the period. Danville would get on the board with about four minutes left to extend the lead to five again.

With one minute remaining, Danville was up by five at 54-49. The Crusaders cut the lead to three but couldn't get over the hump before time expired.

Holy Trinity stands at 0-2 on the year and takes on West Burlington at home Friday night.
