WEST POINT - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrest of a West Point man and woman on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.
According to a release from the LCNTF, Richard Edward Huffman, age 60 and Peggy Ann Huffman, age 59, of West Point, IA are both charged with; Manufacturing marijuana, a class D felony; Possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, a class D felony; Possession of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) with the intent to deliver, a class C felony; (4) counts of Iowa tax stamp violation, each count is a class D felony; Maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor; Possession of cocaine, a serious misdemeanor; Possession of psilocybin mushrooms, a serious misdemeanor; Possession of a controlled substance (THC edibles/vapes), a serious misdemeanor; Possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor; and Possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.   
The charges came after the Lee County Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in West Point.  There it is alleged that both Richard and Peggy Huffman were in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
The Lee County Narcotics Task Force was assisted by the Fort Madison Police Department, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lee County Attorney’s Office. 
The defendant’s in this case are presumed innocent until proven guilty.  The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy
