Hwy. 61 at Mepo to become 4-way stop

New bypass intersection off Mediapolis exit to become controlled intersection.

MEDIAPOLIS – If you travel on old U.S. 61/Wapello Street or Main Street in Mediapolis you need to be aware of an upcoming intersection change that could affect your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 5 Office.
Beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 3, the current 2-way stop at the intersection of old U.S. 61/Wapello Street and Main Street will be changed to a 4-way stop. This change will improve operations as well as safety at this location.
