Keokuk kids get high marks at speech district

KEOKUK, Iowa - The Keokuk High School Speech Team competed in Large Group Speech Districts on Jan. 20 and the team earned several Division 1 ratings and one Division 2 rating.
In the Group Mime category, the team earned a Division 1 rating and the team included Kyla Muston, Darby Tackes, Aydan O,Connor and Carter Killoren.
In the Short Film category, the team earned a Division 1 rating and the team included Erich Profeta, Mehl Wright, BJ Atterberg, Julio Akinyooye, Jakob Mott, Darby Tackes and Carter Killoren.
In the TV News category, the team earned a Division 1 rating and the team included Josie Marshall, Abbie Killoren, Kyla Muston, Aydan O’Connor, Kiersten McNally, Alayna Mott, Gracie Thompson, Cally Leenerts, Jakob Mott and Erich Profeta.
In the Ensemble A category the team earned a Division 2 rating and the team included Kiersten McNally, Gracie Thompson and Cally Leenerts and in the Ensemble B category they earned a Division 1 rating and the team included Alayna Mott, Abbie Killoren and Josie Marshall.
Katie Geltz is the speech coach for both Large Group and Individuals Speech at KHS.
