Keokuk man charged with felonies

Five pounds of marijuana and weapons recovered.

LEE COUNTY - On June 22, 2026, the Lee County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence located at 502 North 3rd Street in Keokuk, Iowa, following a narcotics investigation
involving a suspicious package intercepted by law enforcement.
During the investigation, investigators conducted a controlled delivery of the package to the residence. Shortly after the package was accepted and taken inside, a search warrant was obtained and executed.
During the search, investigators located approximately 2,123 grams (4.68 pounds) of marijuana concealed within the residence. The marijuana was packaged in multiple bags, and investigators also located a digital scale consistent with the distribution of controlled substances.
Investigators additionally seized two pistols and an AR-15 style rifle from the residence.
As a result of the investigation, Xavier Addison Hutchcroft, a 24-year-old Keokuk man, was charged with:
• Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana – Class D Felony

• Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp – Class D Felony

• Maintaining a Drug House – Aggravated Misdemeanor

• Persons Ineligible to Carry a Dangerous Weapon – Serious Misdemeanor
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Lee County Narcotics Task Force was assisted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Keokuk Police Department, Fort Madison Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force.
